1 Killed In Early Morning Car Crash In Teaneck

TEANECK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A man was killed in an early morning car accident in northern New Jersey Sunday.

Police in Teaneck, N.J. told The Record the crash happened on New Bridge Road shortly after 1 a.m.

Authorities said it was a "lengthy process'' to extricate the two people who were inside the car, which was severely damaged in the accident.

The 29-year-old man who was driving the car was killed, while a passenger escaped injury. Their names and further details on the accident have not been released.

It's not believed that any other vehicles were involved in the accident, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
