Police: Suspect In Custody After Man Is Stabbed On 5 Train In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A suspect was in custody Wednesday afternoon, after a man was stabbed and injured on a No. 5 train at the Pelham Parkway station in the Bronx.

The incident took place around 3:15 p.m., according to the FDNY EMS. The victim was stabbed in the back and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was reported in serious condition with non life-threatening injuries, sources told CBS 2.

The train was southbound on the elevated tracks at the time of the stabbing, sources said.

A suspect was in custody late Wednesday afternoon, but no charges were filed as of Wednesday night, 1010 WINS reported.

Police held the train to apprehend the suspect, sources told CBS 2.
