Police Seek Suspect In Bronx Attempted Rape

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man who followed a woman into her Bronx apartment building Friday morning and tried to rape her.

The woman was followed around 6:45 a.m. to the second flood of her building in Tremont, where the suspect grabbed her and attempted to rape her, police said. The woman screamed, and the man then fled, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and released.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspect. He is described as Hispanic; 30 to 35 years old; and 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black jacket, blue jeans, light boots and Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap.
