Suffolk County Woman Slapped With Charges For Allegedly Driving Drunk With Kids In The Car

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A Suffolk County woman has been accused of driving drunk and slamming into a telephone pole with her children in the car.

Sarah Knakal was driving on East Jericho Turnpike on Saturday with her 5, 7, and 9-year-old children in the car when she crashed into a pole and hit a sign, police said.

No one was hurt in the crash and Knakal allegedly fled the scene with her kids.

Police eventually caught her and charged her with Aggravated DWI and Leaving The Scene Of An Accident.
