Search On For Burglar Who Struck East Village Apartment

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Thursday were asking the public to help them find a suspect in the broad-daylight burglary of an East Village apartment.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, May 11, the suspect walked into an apartment through an open door at an unspecified address in the East Village, police said.

The suspect took an Apple laptop computer, police said.

Police have released a surveillance video of the suspect walking into the building. He is wearing a blue baseball cap and carrying a skateboard.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
