Report: NYC School Cleaner Accused Of Sexually Abusing Woman, Stealing Her Phone

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New York City school worker arrested Wednesday, reportedly on allegations that he robbed and molested a woman in a Bronx school.

Mady Wague, 49, was arrested Wednesday in the 48th Precinct in the Bronx, police said.

He was charged with robbery, forcible touching, and criminal mischief.

Police did not provide further details in a news release. But a New York Daily News report said Wague worked as a school cleaner at P.S. 118 on Quarry Road in the Belmont section of the Bronx.

Police told the newspaper that Wague brought the 26-year-old woman into the school and sexually abused her. She fought him off and was about to call police, but he stole her cellphone, police told the paper.

The woman still contacted police, who arrested Wague, the newspaper reported.

Wague did not work for the Department of Education, but was hired by the school custodian to help him clean the building and has now been fired, the newspaper reported.
