Child Falls Out Third Floor Window In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - A child who plunged out of a third story window Monday morning has been hospitalized.
The incident happened at around 11 a.m. on Orange Street, police said.
Officers found the 3-year-old boy's mother cradling her child on the street after the fall, police said.
The mother told them that the boy was trying to retrieve a toy when he fell through the open, screened window. The mother said she tried to grab the boy, but couldn't, according to police.
The boy suffered numerous cuts and "a bump in the head," police said.
The child's condition has not been released, though he was awake and breathing when he was taken to the hospital, police said.
