Bronx Shooting Leaves 1 Man Dead, 1 Injured

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Thursday were investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded in the Belmont section of the Bronx.

Officers on routine patrol were called at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday to a building 518 E. 187th St., in front of which they found two men shot.

Leonard Hines, 24, of Yonkers, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was later pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital, police said.

The second victim, a 17-year-old boy, suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm, and was also taken to St. Barnabas. His condition was listed as stable Thursday evening.

As of Thursday evening, there had been no arrests in the case and the investigation continued.
