NYC Pizza Boy Rapist Sentenced To 13 Years In Prison

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An 18-year-old man who admitted raping a woman in her Manhattan apartment after delivering pizza to one of her neighbors has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Cesar Lucas, of the Bronx, was sentenced Monday after pleaded guilty to rape and other charges. He also faces 20 years of post-release supervision.

Prosecutors said the attack happened after Lucas, 16 at the time, brought a pizza to an Upper West Side apartment early on Sept. 29, 2012. They say he got into the sleeping victim's nearby apartment and raped her while her child was asleep in the same bed.

Lucas's lawyer, Gary Villanueva, said his client was sorry for his actions.

Police said Lucas told officers sexual urges led him to rape the 35-year-old woman.

After dropping off the pizza, Lucas went down the hallway looking for an unlocked apartment, police said. The family told CBS 2 the victim kept her door unlocked because her mother lives across the hall.
