Police: Non-Custodial Mother Took 3 Kids From Bronx School

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Thursday were asking the public to help them find a non-custodial mother who allegedly took her three children from their Bronx school.

Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Rachel Summers picked up her three biological children from P.S. 112, at 1925 Scheffelin Ave. in the Edenwald section of the Bronx and left the location, police said.

Summers does not have custody of the children and took them unlawfully, police said.

Police told CBS 2 they do not expect an AMBER Alert to be issued.

Summers was described as a 28-year-old black female standing 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 155 pounds.

Police said she took her daughter – Anaya Barnes, 13; and her two sons – Elijah Summers, 10, and Korrie Williams, 9.

Police have released a photo of Rachel Summers. Photos of the children are not available.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
