Daniel Castillano, 23, has been charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and two counts of acting in a manner injuring a child under 17, according to a police department spokeswoman.
Castillano's 14-month-old daughter died in May after nearly drowning in the bathtub of her family's Selwyn Avenue apartment.
Castillano allegedly stepped away for a few minutes to go into the kitchen, and left the girl in an overflowing tub with her 3-year-old brother. The boy was not injured, WCBS 880's Monica Miller reported.
The baby later died at a nearby hospital of injuries related to the near drowning.
