NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Homicide detectives on Long Island are investigating the death of a man found dead on his front lawn.

Suffolk County Police say Larry Collins was found dead at his Huntington Station home at about 4:25 a.m. Saturday following a fight.

They say he suffered abdominal injuries but wouldn’t describe the injuries or how he might have sustained them.

Neighbors told WCBS 880’s Sophia Hall that police were called to the home regularly and that they believe the man was stabbed.

“Sometimes the police is there every week, every two weeks. Yeah I don’t know,” one neighbor said.

The 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Police say they responded to Collins’ home after someone called 911 to report a disturbance.
