Teen Charged In June Bronx Shooting That Left 1 Dead, 1 Injured

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in a shooting in the Bronx last month that left a man dead and a teenage boy injured.

Deyshawn Pantoja, 18, was charged with murder and assault in the shooting on Wednesday, June 4, which happened in front of a building 518 E. 187th St. in the Belmont section of the Bronx.

Officers on routine patrol were called to the building at 10:50 p.m. that day, and they found the two men shot.

Leonard Hines, 24, of Yonkers, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was later pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital, police said.

The second victim, a 17-year-old boy, suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm, and was also taken to St. Barnabas. His condition was listed as stable Thursday evening.
