Report Bares Jeter's 'Secret' Stake In High-Tech Men's Undies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Derek Jeter is getting into the publishing business. That much we know.

But the New York Post just pulled the drawers down on another investment: the Yankees captain is a "secret" part-owner of Frigo RevolutionWear, a pricey brand of men's underwear that the paper describes as "Tempur-Pedic banana hammocks."

Why so secretive? The future Hall of Famer's people are "concerned he'll turn into the next Jim Palmer," the Baltimore Orioles great who modeled Jockey briefs in the '70s, according to the Post.

Frigos are selling for as high as $100 on Lord and Taylor's website.

"Unlike other garments that keep things in place by compressing your package inward, Frigo provides support from behind so you won't feel constricted," the company boasts, as the Post reported.

For what it's worth, WFAN co-host Craig Carton said Friday that he has a friend in California who highly recommends the underwear.

"Frigo is French for 'refrigerator,' " a caller said on WFAN's "Boomer & Carton" show. "So it's a cool way to keep your junk cool."

Jeter, who plans to retire at the end of the season, appears in several photos on Frigo's website from a launch party in New York City. Free-agent hoops star Carmelo Anthony and rapper 50 Cent are among the other investors in the company, the Post reported.
