Long Island Woman Completes Self-Inflicted '7 Marathons In 7 Days' Challenge
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- On the eighth day she can finally rest.
A woman from Nassau County ran her seventh marathon in seven days on Sunday.
Eva Casale, 49, ended her self-inflicted foot challenge in her hometown of Glen Cove. She was followed by other runners who joined her along the way.
Casale ran all seven of her marathons on Long Island.
Her goal was to raise $50,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
"It was definitely a challenge. The heat was tough this week, but I just kept moving forward and the support of everyone really kept me going," she said.
Casale racked up 183 miles over the course of a week.
