Fans Flock To See Grumpy Cat And Oskar The Blind Cat In Manhattan

by Susan Richard

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)  The world's most famous feline was back in the Big Apple today, and it was awful.

Well, maybe for the cat also known as Tardar Sauce, but not for the hundreds of fans who turned out at Bleecker Street Records in Greenwich Village to take a photo with Grumpy Cat.

1010 WINS Anchor (and admitted crazy cat lady) Susan Richard was there for the fun, and even got an interview with the Grumpster herself, so check it out:

Grumpy was joined by another internet celebrity, Oskar The Blind Cat, in their role as spokescats for Friskies, which unveiled it's "Cat Summer" campaign, complete with a music video that also features Nala Cat and Hamilton the Hipster Cat.  The cats appeared together last year in the "It's Hard To Be A Cat At Christmas" video, which also featured the late Colonel Meow, who passed away earlier this year.  The new video is dedicated to the Colonel, and Friskies is donating one meal of it's new "Grillers" variety -- per YouTube click -- to animal shelters around the country through Labor Day (up to 1,000,000 meals).
