Human Head Discovered In Hempstead Yard
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island made another gruesome discovery Thursday.
A human head was found in a Hempstead yard in the same area where two human arms were found last week, police told CBS 2.
All three body parts have been found just blocks apart in a residential area. CSI teams and detectives converged Thursday on Boylston Street, the site of the latest discovery, CBS 2's Matt Kozar reported.
Dorothy Robinson owns the home and the yard in which the head was found Thursday. She told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall that for about a week, she smelled a horrific odor in the bushes on the left side of her home.
"When I found out it was a human head, I was just floored. I was devastated," Robinson told Hall Friday. "I didn't even sleep last night because I just kept having these terrible visions."

The first arm was found on Webb Avenue, while the second was discovered on Stewart Avenue.
Area resident Jonathan Grier told CBS 2 he first encountered a terrible smell while cutting his grass last Friday. He said he wasn't tempted to go track it down since the arms were found nearby.
A passerby helped make the discovery Thursday, CBS 2 reported.
"I guess the stench stayed strong, and one of the people walking past, they happened to smell it," Grier said. "The guy across the street went over there. That's when they opened up the bag and seen that it's a head in the bag."
"This is crazy that people are running around dropping the body parts all around our area," Grier said.
A partially dismembered body was also recently discovered about 25 miles away in Bay Shore, but it is unknown whether all of the remains are linked.
Authorities previously said forensic testing could determine if the body found in Bay Shore is that of a missing Brooklyn mother of four, Chinelle Latoya Browne.
The 27-year-old's family said she was last seen July 5, and CBS 2 learned that distinct tattoos found on the torso in Bay Shore match those of Browne.
Neighbors told CBS 2's Janelle Burrell last week that Browne had just gotten into a fight with her landlord before she went missing.
"Her hair was all a mess and she put it in a ponytail," neighbor Anthony Smith said. "She walked back down the block, she got in a cab, and nobody saw her again."
Police said the remains found Thursday were taken to the Nassau County Medical Examiner's office for further examination. Investigators are awaiting the results of DNA testing to determine if there's a link to the other body parts found.
Browne's husband is asking for prayers on his Facebook page. He lives in Guyana with the couple's children.
