Long Island Woman Found Dead In Backyard Pool

HOLBROOK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Long Island died from apparently drowning in her backyard swimming pool Saturday night, police said.

Suffolk County police said officers and Holbrook Fire Department personnel found Karen Gabrielsen, 50, unconscious and not breathing when they responded to an emergency call at 9:33 p.m. Saturday in Holbrook.

She was taken from her Railroad Avenue home to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead.
