Jets' Enunwa Arrested Following Fight At N.J. Hotel

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Saying that he was "aware of the situation," Jets head coach Rex Ryan confirmed on Wednesday that practice squad player Quincy Enunwa was recently arrested following a fight at a New Jersey hotel.

TMZ first reported the incident, saying Enunwa, a wide receiver out of Nebraska the Jets selected in the sixth round of this year's draft, was picked up Sunday after allegedly getting into a fight at the Wyndham Hamilton Park Hotel.

The alleged victim suffered minor injuries during the fight, CBSSports.com reported.

When asked about the incident, Ryan told reporters "It's a pending legal matter so I'm not going to comment on it."

Enunwa, who was cut by the Jets on Monday and later signed to the practice squad, was charged with simple assault, TMZ reported,

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound wideout, who was the MVP of Nebraska's 2014 Gator Bowl win over Georgia, appeared in all four preseason games, but did not record a reception.
