Gov. Cuomo Hits Campaign Trail Just Days Ahead Of Primary

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- New York's primary is just a few days away, but Governor Andrew Cuomo has just hit the campaign trail.

Gov. Cuomo Hits Campaign Trail Just Days Ahead Of Primary

As WCBS 880's Monica Miller reported, it's a side of the governor that voters haven't seen in four years. The one-term governor hit the campaign trail in earnest over the weekend, marching in Midtown with union leaders who gave him their endorsement.

Cuomo then fired up the rhetoric to remind supporters in Queens about his accomplishments including legalizing gay marriage and raising the minimum wage.

"And we're not gonna stop until we're creating jobs and opportunity for every New Yorker," Gov. Cuomo said

While the governor appeared confident, some political observers say the race for Lt. Governor may be close, leaving some to wonder if running mate Kathy Hochul could be in trouble.

"There is no one who has met Kathy anywhere in this state who is not blown away with her," the governor said.

Primary Day is September 9.
