NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police say a killer is in custody after officers saw him shoot a man dead in Brooklyn and then try to hide the gun.

Two plainclothes officers were on patrol when they witnessed the shooting, police said.
According to police, as the officers approached the suspect, he crouched behind a parked car and tried to ditch the gun.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he died. He was identified as 34-year-old Damon Page, of Englewood, New Jersey.
Terrell Williams, 23, of Brooklyn was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
No information on a lawyer for Williams was available.
