NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Two people were hospitalized early Saturday morning following a hit-and-run crash in Brooklyn.

Police said the SUV struck a 27-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman on Seaview Avenue near Louisiana Avenue in East New York just before 2 a.m.

The woman suffered minor injuries, while the man was listed in critical condition with serious leg injuries.

Neighbor Tanya told 1010 WINS’ Roger Stern she was looking out of her window when she saw the Mercury Mountaineer driving around the traffic circle in front of 11245 Seaview Ave.

“It was going around in circles and as soon as I walked away from the window I hear ‘Ba-Boom,’ and I hear this girl screaming her head off ‘You gotta move the car. You have to move the car!'” she said.

Tanya said she looked back out the window to see the man pinned to the wall by the SUV.

Both victims were taken to Brookdale Hospital, CBS 2 reported.

Officials said the driver jumped out of the SUV and fled the scene on foot.
