TSA: Agents Find 2 Guns, 350 Rounds Of Ammo, 33 Pounds Of Marijuana In Woman's Luggage At JFK

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Transportation Security Administration officers made quite a discovery inside two checked bags at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

When TSA officers opened two pieces of checked luggage at JFK on Sunday, they found the suitcases stuffed with cans and boxes of baby wipes, coffee, floor dusting sheets, lemonade mix, iced tea mix, a box of cat litter and a box of laundry tablets, according to the TSA .

None of those boxes or cans contained the products on the labels.

TSA officers also found two disassembled .40 caliber handguns, 350 rounds of ammunition, four magazines for the guns and 58 bricks of marijuana totaling 33 pounds, all artfully concealed in the boxes, tubs and cans of everyday household products, TSA officials said.

TSA officers immediately notified Port Authority Police, who responded to the checked-baggage room, confiscated the items and tracked down the traveler and arrested her.

The woman had a Canadian passport and a ticket to fly to Barbados.

TSA officers at JFK screen approximately 73,000 pieces of checked baggage per day.
