Red Sox Honor Commissioner Selig Before Game Against Yankees

BOSTON, Mass. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Derek Jeter wasn't the only one to bring his farewell tour to Fenway Park this weekend.

Commissioner Bud Selig was honored by the Boston Red Sox for a half-century in baseball ahead of Saturday's game.

The former Milwaukee Brewers owner is touring ballparks this season before he steps down after 22 years as commissioner.

Selig spent 55 minutes talking to members of the Red Sox front office and staff before a presentation was held on the field.

The Red Sox played the Yankees on Saturday in the second-to-last game of Jeter's career. The longtime Yankees captain was in the lineup at designated hitter.

Selig praised Jeter and said baseball was lucky to have him as a star because he represented himself and the game so well.
