Cops: 1 Teen Dead, 3 Injured In Stabbings At Bronx Party

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- A house party in the Bronx erupted in violence early Sunday morning, and now the search is on for the attacker who stabbed a teen to death and injured several others.

Police said, officers were called to a home at 2194 Barnes Ave. in the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx at around 3:15 a.m.

Witnesses said there was a house party going on and a fight broke out that spilled onto the street, CBS 2's Hazel Sanchez reported.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 14-year-old Justin Fallu, of the Bronx, who had been stabbed in the chest, police said.

Fallu was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Two other 18-year-old males were also stabbed in the chest and a 17-year-old male was stabbed in the shoulder, police said.

All three were also taken to Jacobi Medical Center and were last listed in stable condition, WCBS 880 reported.

Fallu's uncle told 1010 WINS' Derricke Dennis the teen came from a good family and was too young to have enemies.

"Good kid; no guns, no nothing. So why would they take his life like that?" he said. "He was trying to prevent a situation, I guess. Or he was there at the wrong time, the wrong place, you know."

Sources told CBS 2's Steve Langford police have surveillance video showing half a dozen young people running away from the crime scene at about 3:20 a.m.

Meanwhile, five miles north of the streets where Fallu was killed, friends and neighbors grieved openly for the well-liked teen.

"I saw the kid last night when I came home," Nivia Galarza said.

Galarza said Fallu was a good kid with a great sense of humor. She said she saw him just the night before.

"He started to laugh and he smiled and that smile will always stay with me," she said.

Peter Viruet, who lives in the apartment next to Fallu's family, said he often worried about the crowd the teen hung out with.

"I used to tell Justin 'listen, stop hanging out with these guys you're hanging out with cause you're not going to get anywhere,'" he said.

So far, no arrests have been made.
