New York Man Gets Life In Prison For 2012 Murder Of Suburban Cab Driver
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New Yorker who was convicted in the love-triangle killing of a suburban cab driver has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
John Murray of Newburgh was found guilty in April of first-degree murder in the shooting of Terrance Camper. Camper was found dying in his taxi in Peekskill in 2012.
Prosecutors said Murray had been having an affair with Camper's wife and killed Camper for his life insurance money.
Beatrice Camper admitted helping Murray find her husband. She pleaded guilty in February to second-degree murder and testified against Murray. She is serving a 15-year sentence.
The 62-year-old Murray has spent decades in prison for other killings.
