Police: Same Suspect Was Behind Burglaries In Greenwich Village, Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Thursday said they believe the same suspect is behind a pair of burglaries back in July – one of them in Greenwich Village near NYU, the other in Brooklyn.
The first burglary happened between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. July 21 at the Le Pain Quotidien at 10 Fifth Ave. The suspect walked into a management office area and tried to take a safe, but was surprised by an employee and ran off with nothing, police said.
The second incident happened between 4:30 a.m. July 24 and 7:45 a.m. July 25 in a residential building on Fulton Street in the 88th Precinct, which includes Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. The suspect walked into an apartment and made off with $380, police said.
The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, and standing about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 200 pounds.
Police have released surveillance video from both incidents.
