Police: Alleged Ticket Scalper Escaped Arrest In Front Of Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday were searching for a reputed ticket scalper who allegedly fought officers as they tried to arrest him in front of Yankee Stadium last month.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, the suspect, who was described by police as a "known ticket scalper," was spotted by officers selling tickets to the Yankees game in front of the stadium in the Bronx, police said.

When an officer walked up and tried to arrest the suspect, he resisted, police said.

Another officer came to assist and grabbed the suspect's arm, police said. The suspect then twisted his own arm to try and get out of the officer's grip, causing the officer's arm also to twist, police said.

The suspect then ran off, police said. The officer suffered bruising and swelling to his arm and chest, police said.

Police identified the suspect as Jacob Fashakin, a 26-year-old black male standing 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
