Cops Seek Help In Identifying Man Found On Upper East Side, Now In Critical Condition

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the public for help in identifying man who was found on the Upper East Side on Saturday morning.

At 8:30 a.m. the man sustained a severe head injury and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, he was conscious and responsive at the time, but is now listed as critical.

It is not believed that the man was a victim of a crime. He has been described as homeless and a native of Guatemala. He is in his mid to late 30s and weighs 150-lbs. The man was wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans when he was discovered.

Anyone with information regarding the individual or the whereabouts of his family has been asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips to 274637[CRIMES] and entering TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
