Gigi Jordan Cross-Examined In Court, Says She Knew She'd Kill Son With Pills From The Start

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A millionaire accused of murdering her 8-year-old son was cross-examined Friday.

As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported, the first question Gigi Jordan was asked on cross-examination was if she caused the death of her son Jude at the Peninsula Hotel and if she did it with a conscious intent to kill, to which she answered yes.

Next, prosecutor Matt Bogdanos asked her when she first thought about killing Jude. She replied she never thought about just killing Jude; she had testified earlier that she herself never intended to survive.

But the prosecutor kept her focused on her intention toward her autistic son and whether she had told him she intended to kill him.

She admitted she had communicated to the boy about her despair, her hopelessness and her fears for their safety as well as death threats from her ex-husband.

Jordan insisted her son learned to communicate with her by typing on a laptop and BlackBerry. That is also how he told her about the torture and sexual abuse allegedly inflicted by his biological father and others.

Jordan said that from the moment she decided to do it, she knew she would use pills to end Jude's life.

She also testified that in the week before checking into the hotel, she spent $11,000 refilling her son's prescriptions. He took 17 drugs-- 40 pills a day-- so when it came time to kill him, she said she did not have to force pills down his throat. She said she just took her time, giving him 8-10 pills at a time until he swallowed enough.
