Police Searching For Suspect In Pair Of Bronx Robberies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who they say robbed two Bronx businesses on the same night last month.

The suspect first struck around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 21, when he walked into a Family Dollar Store at 1227 Webster Ave. in Concourse Village, police said. The man was allegedly armed with a gun and demanded money. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

Less than two hours later, the same man used a gun to rob a McDonald's at 1745 University Ave. in Morris Heights, police said. It's also unclear how much money he made off with from that location.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

Police have released surveillance video of the suspect. They are asking anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-8477 or to submit a tip online at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com. All communications are kept confidential.
