Manhattan College Dedicates Building In Former Top Cop Ray Kelly's Name
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Manhattan College formally dedicated its student commons building as the Raymond W. Kelly '63 Student Commons on Wednesday in honor of the former police commissioner.
As 1010 WINS' Derricke Dennis reported, the 70,000-square-foot glass, steel and brick structure now bears the name of the city's former top cop and college alumni.
"It's difficult to describe in words the feeling of having a building named in your honor," Kelly said to the crowd.

Kelly graduated from Manhattan College in 1963 and dedicated his life to public service.
His classmate all those years ago, philanthropist Tom O'Malley, helped spearhead the fundraising effort with a multi-million dollar donation himself, Dennis reported.
"And what a truly beautiful structure it is," O'Malley said.
The building will serve as the new crossroads of campus, connecting the north and south sides.
Students can now enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness center, a full service Starbucks, new meeting rooms and offices.
