Juror's Halloween Costume Causes Judge To Do Double-Take At Gigi Jordan's Murder Trial

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Halloween was on the mind of at least one juror as the third day of deliberations began in Gigi Jordan's murder trial, the former pharmaceutical executive and socialite accused of killing her 8-year-old autistic son.

As the jurors filed into the courtroom to hear the judge explain what it meant by a "preponderance of the evidence," one woman in the jury caused the judge to do a double-take, WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported.

The juror was dressed in a red and white striped cap with a pom pom, large, black rimmed glasses and a shirt with broad red and white horizontal stripes-- the outfit advertised as a "Where's Waldo" Halloween costume.

All Judge Charles Solomon could do was shake his head and laugh, Cornell reported.

The bit of lightheartedness comes after Thursday's legal brouhaha in the trial.

As Cornell reported, attorneys on both sides were on their feet shouting in court as they responded to questions about a jailhouse interview Jordan gave to The Wall Street Journal.

The newspaper quotes Jordan as saying she rejected earlier plea deals that would have required her to serve a short prison sentence. She said she opted for a jury trial so she could tell her story about what happened to her son, Jude Mirra, according to the Journal. She alleges the boy was sexually abused by his biological father.

Tune in to CBS2 tonight at 11 p.m. as Jordan gives an exclusive jailhouse interview to CBS2 about what happened the night she killed her son and why she insists she had no choice.
