
FREEPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A Long Island teenager has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death of another teen.
Nassau County police said 16-year-old Jasmine Copeland, of Freeport, got into an argument with three girls aged 16, 17, and 9 on Saturday night.

The 16-year-old girl suffered a laceration to the left side of her chest, while the 17-year-old was stabbed in her lower left back, police said. The 9-year-old was uninjured and released to a guardian.
Both victims were rushed to an area hospital, where the 17-year-old — identified by police as Abigail Thomas, of Freeport — was pronounced dead.

Copeland is facing first-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault charges. She was was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
