Nurse Takes Jab At Gov. Christie, Says Mandatory Quarantine Was Politics
NEW JERSEY (CBSNewYork) -- Kaci Hickox, the nurse quarantined in New Jersey after treating Ebola patients in West Africa, had more harsh words for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Sunday.
She said the governor was being dishonest when he called her quarantine necessary out of an abundance of caution.
"It was really an abundance of politics. And I think all of the scientific and medical and public health community agrees with me on that statement," she said.
Christie has expressed concerns about a voluntary monitoring system, and has said that it's the government's job to protect the public.
He has maintained a mandatory three week quarantine for anyone in New Jersey that has come into contact with the Ebola virus.
