Outfielder Has Muscle Injury Repaired, Should Be Fine And Dandy For Spring Training

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The Yankees said Wednesday that outfielder Brett Gardner recently had surgery to repair a core muscle injury in his right abdomen.

The operation was performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Philadelphia Vincera Institute in Philadelphia on Oct. 16, the team announced.

Gardner hit .256 with a career-high 17 homers, 58 RBI and 21 steals in 148 games during the 2014 season.
