Giants Add Chykie Brown To Fortify Decimated Secondary

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants have acquired cornerback Chykie Brown on waivers from the Baltimore Ravens.

The Giants announced the move on Wednesday and said they placed cornerback Prince Amukamara on injured reserve with a torn biceps. Amukamara was injured Monday night in a loss to Indianapolis.

Brown was waived on Tuesday after playing seven games with the Ravens. He has played in 46 NFL games with two starts.

New York also signed safety Kyle Sebetic to its practice squad. He was with the Giants in training camp this summer.

The Giants had an opening on their practice squad after the New Orleans Saints signed tackle Nick Becton on Tuesday.

"We'll certainly have to spend a lot of time bringing these new people to a point where they understand basic concepts we coach, and then the adjustments you make going forward into a game," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said earlier this week.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will be looked upon as the team's top cornerback with Amukamara out. The Giants previously lost CBs Walter Thurmond (pectoral) and Trumaine McBride (thumb) for the season.
