Injury Report: Next Man Up In The New York Jets Secondary

By Tyson Rauch

The bad news continues for the New York Jets as it appears that defensive back Darrin Walls will be unable to play on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Walls is considered to be the Jets best cornerback with Dee Milliner and Dexter McDougle already lost for the season due to injury.

Rex Ryan will replace Darrin Walls with either Josh Thomas or Marcus Williams, players that were recently signed to the roster. Phillip Adams will man the opposite side of the field with Kyle Wilson covering the slot position.

Match-up nightmare

The New York Jets makeshift secondary is going to have their hands full with the high- flying Pittsburgh Steelers offense. Gang Green does not have the personnel to keep up with the likes of Antonio Brown (8 tds), Markus Wheaton (31 catches), and Martavis Bryant (5 tds). Factor in the consistent play of tight end Heath Miller and the threat of Le'Veon Bell out of the backfield and the Jets will be scrambling for answers all over the field.

At this point the Jets best defense will be a relentless pass rush and exotic coverages. If New York gives Ben Roethlisberger time in the pocket it is going to be a very long day for the Jets in MetLife Stadium.

Doubtful

CB Darrin Walls (calf)

Probable

WR Percy Harvin (heel), T Oday Aboushi (shoulder), QB Michael Vick (foot), LB Antwan Barnes (knee), G Willie Colon (knee), RB Chris Johnson (ankle), WR Greg Salas (wrist), LB David Harris (shoulder)
