Staten Island Teen Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Pickup
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A teenage girl crossing a State Island street was fatally struck by a pickup truck making a turn.
Jenna Daniels, 15, of Staten Island, died of severe head trauma after the accident Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and Bayview Avenue, police said.
Daniels was unconscious and unresponsive when police arrived at the scene. She was pronounced dead at Staten Island University Hospital South.
The driver of the pickup remained at the scene. He has not been arrested. The investigation is continuing.
