Report: If It's Up To Rex, Vick Will Start Vs. Dolphins Next Week

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- We're approaching Week 13, and the Jets still don't have a definitive starting quarterback.

In New York's embarrassing loss to the Bills in Detroit on Monday night, starter Michael Vick was pulled in the third quarter and replaced by former starter Geno Smith.

"I just made a decision," head coach Rex Ryan told reporters after the game. "I saw that (Vick) was limping and I saw he was taking some hits, and I wanted to get Geno some shots out there, give him a chance."

In his postgame press conference, Ryan wouldn't commit to a starter for next week's Monday night game against the Dolphins.

"We'll address that later," Ryan said. "I don't know yet. We'll figure it out. I want to see how they look. Sometimes, you can have a feel and a sense of it on the field. When you watch the tape, maybe you see a different opinion. We'll take a look at it and do what we think is best."

According to the New York Daily News, Vick is likely to get the call against Miami. If it's the coach's decision, that is.

Before being taken out, Vick completed seven of 19 passes for 76 yards. He threw an interception and was sacked five times.

Smith, appearing in his first game since October 26, was 10 of 12 for 89 yards.
