Broken Elevator At Stamford Senior Home Threatens Residents' Thanksgiving Plans
STAMFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - Many senior citizens at the six-story Eleanor Roosevelt House in the Springdale section of Stamford, Conn., will not be able to leave if they have Thanksgiving plans due to a broken elevator.
As WCBS 880's Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau reported, many of the building's residents rely on the elevator which the building's manager says is broken and may take weeks to fix.

The problem is reportedly in the control panel and the Stamford Advocate reports the building's owners are doing all they can to fix it. The elevator reportedly can be operated manually but on a very limited basis.
The residents awaiting repairs reportedly say this is not the first time they have had problems with the elevator in the 35-year-old building.
