SELDEN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Police want to catch a man who they said stole more than a dozen handbags from a Long Island store earlier this month.

The suspect walked into the TJ Maxx store on Old Country Road in Selden on Nov. 3 and walked out with 14 Michael Kors purses, police said.

The bags are valued at more than $2,600.

Witnesses said the man took off in a dark blue Jeep Cherokee with a partial New York State plate of FFJ 7.

Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
