On WFAN: Antrel Rolle Takes Issue With Unnamed Reporters, Defends Himself

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Giants safety Antrel Rolle was in an especially fiery mood on Tuesday afternoon during his weekly spot with WFAN co-hosts Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts.

The three-time Pro Bowler took issue with unnamed reporters who allegedly accused him of being opposed to defensive coordinator Perry Fewell's play calling toward the end of Sunday's loss to the lowly Jaguars.

"I just want to definitely set the record straight and say that that's absolutely false information," Rolle told Joe & Evan. "Those reporters, I know exactly who they are -- I'm not gonna say their names, but I do know them and I know them by face -- so they're gonna have to answer to me in person for taking what I said out of context."

The Giants blew a 21-point lead on Sunday en route to a seventh consecutive loss. They were outscored 22-3 in the second half.

"If you even go to Giants.com and you watch my interview, nothing that they wrote is what I said," the defensive captain said. "I never said I disagree with the play calling, or whatever the case may be. And even if I did, that's not something that would ever be let loose to the public.

"I've been in this game for 10 years and I'm smart enough to know what to say and what not to say. I have a great relationship with my coaches ... They do value my input. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't sugarcoat anything and I'm not gonna lie about anything. If I said something I'm gonna man up and I'm gonna say that I said it."

Last week during his weekly spot, Rolle defended Fewell following the Giants' loss to the Cowboys.
