Royal Couple Ready To Visit New York City

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Prince William and Duchess Kate are set to arrive in New York late Sunday and the expectant couple have a packed schedule.

Up first on Monday, William will head to Washington, D.C. to meet with President Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, Kate will stay in New York City for a tour of the Northside Center for Child Development. The center works with children who need behavioral and emotional support, CBS2 reported.

"The most important thing that we'd like to emphasize is children get better with support and good treatment and good education children get better," said Thelma Dye, executive director of Northside Center for Child Development.

The duchess will be accompanied on her tour by New York City first lady Chirlane McCray.

On Tuesday, both William and Kate are scheduled to tour the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

This is their first visit to New York City, and unfortunately, they'll be leaving baby George at home in England.
