The victims worked as baggage handlers at John F. Kennedy Airport. They left work together on Tuesday night, according to authorities.

As 1010 WINS reported, Whittingham received a phone call telling him to go the corner of Louisiana and Seaview Avenues in Brooklyn. When he arrived, he found Barrett and his wife naked in a car.

Whittingham told police that Barrett came at him with a knife. He said he wrestled the knife away and that Barrett fled the scene on foot.

The suspect told authorities that he got into the car and drove it to an unknown location before leaving the vehicle and his wife behind. He claims that she was alive when he left.

On Thursday morning, Whittingham turned himself into police, but said that he didn't remember where he had left the car.

Whittingham drove around with officers until they found the car. His wife was dead from stab wounds in the trunk.

Jerome Barrett was found dead from stab wounds at 855 Louisiana Ave.
