Police: Woman Molested 81-Year-Old Woman In Bronx Residence

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a woman who allegedly sexually molested an 81-year-old woman in the Bronx last week.

The abuse happened at an unspecified address in the 48th Precinct, which includes the Tremont, Belmont and West Farms sections of the Bronx, police said.

Around 10:45 p.m. this past Friday, the woman knocked on the victim's door and said she was from a hospital, police said. The victim let the suspect in, believing the woman was there to care for her husband, police said.

The suspect then touched the woman's groin and breast area, and left, police said.

The suspect was described as being a Hispanic female in her 30s, standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds. Police have released a photo captured prior to the incident.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
