NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — CC Sabathia’s vacation got off to a rocky start on Saturday after the New York Yankees pitcher missed his flight and had to be calmed down by officers at Newark Liberty International Airport, according to TMZ.

The 34-year-old Sabathia, among a group of 12 headed to Jamaica, “started freaking out” after being informed his party wouldn’t be able to board the plane on time, TMZ reported.

Port Authority officers were called to respond but no arrests or citations were made, according to the website. The irked left-hander arrived at his destination on another flight, TMZ reported.

TMZ said neither the Yankees nor Sabathia’s representatives have responded to messages seeking comment.
