Suspect Charged In Box Cutter Attack Outside Williamsburg Nightclub

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect was arrested and charged Tuesday in connection with a box cutter attack on a man in front of a nightclub in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this past weekend.

The suspect, Rodolfo "Rudy" Lopez, 35, of Jersey City, was charged with felony assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Lopez was identified Monday as the suspect in the attack, which happened around 3:20 a.m. Sunday in front of Club Output, at 75 Wythe Ave. in Brooklyn.

During a quarrel in front of the nightclub, the suspect used a box cutter to slash the 37-year-old victim in the face and abdomen, police said.

The suspect ran off, while the man was taken by paramedics to Woodhull Medical Center, police said. His condition was reported as stable.
