Good morning everybody, and welcome to the first Friday of the new year! Expect a similar day to yesterday with a high of 40 degrees and plentiful sun after a freezing start to the day.
If you have any plans for Friday night, you’ll be lookin’ good; just bundle up, as it will be another cold night!
Looking ahead to the weekend, and we have a storm to deal with. Clouds roll in tomorrow morning with temps in the 30s/near 40 with precip getting underway around 3 p.m. Thankfully, it looks like there’s only a brief window of frozen precip in our northern ‘burbs before everything changes to rain late Saturday night.
Spots in Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, and Sussex counties could pick up a quick 1-2 inches of snow with some sleet and freezing rain mixed in. Everything changes over to rain before midnight though, and temps soar into the upper 50s for Sunday!
Rain tapers to showers by lunchtime Sunday but the winds pick up, and then we’re back into the freezer for the next week!
