Police: Man Stole Wallet, Ran Up Big Bill On Credit Card In Williamsburg

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A manhunt was under way Tuesday for a suspect who police said stole a man's wallet in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and ran up $500 on his credit card.

The suspect stole the man's wallet around 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at Havenmeyer and North 7th streets in Brooklyn, and used his credit card to make numerous purchases totaling about $500, police said.

On Monday, Dec. 1, the suspect was seen using the victim's MetroCard at the Lorimer Street L Train subway station, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-30s, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a beard. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black jacket, and a knit cap, police said.

Police have released two surveillance photos of a suspect in the subway.
